Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today asked the people of Moga to choose between an honest candidate like Vijay Sathi and a turncoat like Joginderpal Jain who has openly said that he had stuck a business deal with the Akalis as he had suffered losses in business and that was the reason for his joining the Akali Dal.Addressing a series of public meetings at villages including Chhotian Khurd and Darapur Capt Amarinder pointed out, the people of Moga had elected Jain twice on a Congress ticket but he betrayed their trust for the personal interests. “Jain has cheated and betrayed you for his own business interests”, he reminded the people while warning them that not to allow him another chance to cheat them again.
The PCC President pointed out, the Congress candidate Vijay Sathi had neat and clean image and who had never compromised his principles for the monetary interests as Jain did. “Choice is yours, whether you want an honest candidate like Vijay Sathi or a turncoat who cannot be called a businessman as it will amount to insulting the business community”, he said amidst shouts of Congress Zindabad and Capt Amarinder Singh Zindabad.
Capt Amarinder urged people to ask Akalis if they come to seek their vote as why of all the people they had given ticket to Jain. “Was there any dearth of leaders within the Akali Dal?” he asked, while maintaining that even the Akali workers were angry with the party leadership as they feel that while Jain betrayed the Congress Sukhbir Badal betrayed the Akali workers. The PCC President was accompanied among others by the party candidate Vijay Sathi, Rana Gurjeet, Rana Sodhi, Jeet Mohinder Sidhu, Darshan Brar, Kikki Dhillon, Joginder Singh Panjgraian, Gurdarshan Kaur and others.
