Article 35A Row: Auto Drivers Association directs rickshaw drivers to make two day strike call successful

‘All Kashmir Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association’ has directed all the auto drivers to make Aug 30 and 31 strike call successful. The Association has said auto rickshaws will not ply on roads and will follow the call of Joint Resistance Leadership in letter and spirit against attempts to abrogate Article 35A.Showkat Ahmed, President ‘All Kashmir Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association’ said that being the part of the society it is an obligation and duty of rickshaw drivers to follow the strike call given by JRL in support of Article 35A. “We always support strike calls but there are some people mostly government employees who operate during strike days. It is not our fault. This time we have a common cause and we are one among the 27 organizations that are supporting the program forwarded by Joint Resistance Leadership,” Showkat Ahmed said adding that those drivers who will ply on roads will be treated as anti-people anti-Kashmir. He thanked all the auto drivers for observing unprecedented strike on Aug 5 and 6 on the same issue and hoped this time as well these drivers will make the strike call successful. (CNS)
