P,H,HP & C directorate chandigarh organised blood and organ donation seminar on 24 aug 18 at thapar auditorium, patiala. Cadets of 5 punjab bn ncc, under ncc group hq patiala participated in the seminar. The event also included blood donation camp and campaign for organ donation.Dr mohan paul singh ishar, vice chancellor , maharaja ranjit singh technical university, bhatinda, graced the occasion as chief guest of the function. sanjeev sharma bittu,mayor,patiala, also graced the occasion by their presence.Dr ramneek of rajendra hospital, patiala addressed the gathering and informed the audience about blood donation in detail.Mrs aakriti negi of mohan foundation took a lecture on organ donation and clarified various myth attached to it.Dr mohan paul singh ishar while addressing the gathering appreciated the efforts being put in by ncc in various field including social service activities.Brig js makol, gp cdr ncc, patiala gp said that the seminar was a huge success as total of 150 units of blood were collected by the blood bank rajendra hospital, patiala out which 125 ncc cadets donated blood. He also brought out that over 150 persons including 100 ncc have cadets pledged their organs.The event was followed by an interactive meet with principals and ano`s having ncc. The session was presided over by maj gen rs mann, vsm, adg P,H,HP & C directorate chandigarh.While interacting with media, maj gen rs mann, vsm, said aim of the seminar was to spread awareness and motivate youth to donate blood and pledge their organs. He said ncc is carrying out lot of social service activities and response of ncc cadets today was overwhelming. He added that this semonar will help spread the message regarding noble cause of blood and organ donation
