The Technical Education Minister, Punjab,Charanjit Singh Channi has got into action mode for filling up the vacant posts in the department. As part of this, the department has recruited 21 new lecturers of Pharmacy. The minister met the newly recruited lecturers in his office today in order to allot choice stations to them against the vacant posts in the Government Polytechnic Colleges as per their convenience.The minister said that it is the Endeavour of the department to allot nearest stations without any recommendation to the newly recruited lecturers keeping in mind their merit, family and other aspects. The minister while interacting with the newly recruited lecturers further said that it is for the first time that choice stations would be allotted and from the next academic session only those lecturers would be given choice station postings who would show good results.Mr. Channi also elaborated that workshops and refresher courses by experts would be conducted in order to enable the lecturers of the Government Polytechnic Colleges to be conversant fully with the changes in the teaching techniques and methodologies in tune with the times.The minister also appealed to the newly recruited lecturers to adopt innovative techniques to uplift the standard of the Government Polytechnic Institutions and also exhorted them to keep taking part in the refresher courses and workshops.The lecturers recruited today were allotted stations against vacant posts at polytechnic colleges of Patiala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Bathinda and Amritsar. The written orders would be issued soon.
