Various trader’s organisations and civil society members on Monday held a protest demonstration here in Srinagar  against the attempts to abrogate  Article 35A , which gives special status to the residents of  Jammu and Kashmir.Carrying banners and chanting slogans, the protesters from various trader’s organisations and civil society members assembled in Partap Park to register their protest against attempts to abrogate special status of Jammu and Kashmir.“We are fully supporting the shutdown call given by JRL on August 26 and  August 27.  We will not remain silent and will make any sacrifice to safeguard Article 35A,” said one of the protesting traders.They added “There will be no let up in protests. We want to ask the Centre why it is creating a situation like this. We are being pushed to the 90s-like situation, we will not sit silent and will make any sacrifice to safeguard Article 35 A”.
