On the occasion of 72nd Independence Day, Punjab Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora visited Blood Bank run by NGO Blood Donors Council  SBS Nagar. While appreciating the functioning of blood bank, Mr. Arora said that blood donation is the noblest way to strengthen secularism, communal  harmony and national integration.Arora described the blood donors as angels of humanity. He inaugurated blood donation camp organized by Lions Club city 321-D under presidentship of Iqbal Singh in which 109 donors donated blood voluntarily.G.S. Toor, Founder President B.D.C. and P.R. Kalia, Secretary welcomed the Industry Minister.The blood bank was inaugurated 26 years ago  by renowned Social Activist Bhagat Pooran Singh.Arora also visited leprosy centre on Independence Day. Expressing solidarity with leprers, He  said they are part of society and they should not be treated as untouchable. Efforts should be made for their rehabilitation so that they can lead normal  life and if anyone required surgical intervention then it will be done as soon as possible. He announced grant of Rs. 1 lakh for leprosy centre and  provided Rs. 25000 to Centre from his own pocket along with bandages and ointment etc.Angad Singh Saini, Mr. Darshan Singh Mangupur (both MLAs), Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police & Civil Surgeon, SBS Nagar  were at present on this moment.
