Acting Chief Justice of H.P High Court Justice Sanjay Karol said that environment conservation was the need of the hour and everyone especially the  youth come forward to share this responsibility to save the existence of the human life. He was presiding over the legal literacy and plantation  programme orgainsed at Ghariyach in Gram Panchayat Kunhar of Arki sub-division in Solan district today.He inaugurated the programme by planting a sapling of deodar on this occasion.Justice Sanjay Karol said that in the ancient times, it used to be the collective responsibility to preserve water resources, forests and fauna and we  should learn from the experience of our elders to save this precious wealth. He urged the villagers of the area to ensure preservation of environment  along-with traditional water resources and land.The Acting Chief Justice said that green cover was must for environment protection and to increase green cover, we would have not only to impose  complete ban on unscientific felling of trees but also make our youth aware about the importance of environment protection.As many as 1500 saplings were planted by around 700 people on this occasion.He congratulated the children of GSSS Ghariyach who shared their views on environment protection and plantation drive on this occasion. he also  announced to give Rs. 11,000 each to these students on behalf of the State Legal Services Authority.Earlier, District and Session Judge, Solan Justice Bhupesh Sharma welcomed the chief guest and apprised him that the district Authority has planted  95811 saplings from 2014 to 2018 with the cooperation of school children.Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Solan Mohan Bansal presented the vote of thanks.
