After Friday prayers hundreds joined AIP’s protest march led by party president Er. Rasheed in Handwara today against the conspiracies being hatched against Article 35-A and other related provisions. Holding play cards in their hands protesters took a pledge to continue their fight for right to self determination and promised to support the just cause of resolution of Kashmir.Speaking on the occasion, Er. Rasheed said “The conspiracy against 35-A is just to make Kashmiris defensive, but people of the state are united in defending the special status of the state till the Kashmir issue is permanently resolved.Let New Delhi resolve Kashmir by fulfilling the commitments made with Kashmiris at United Nations and if people of the state vote in favour of India, let the government of India abrogate all those articles which grant special status to J&K. whatsoever is being done, is just an attempt to dilute the real Kashmir cause, but Kashmiris have their own compulsions and reasons to defend Article 370, 35-A and other related articles”. Er. Rasheed added that it is New Delhi which has broken the promises from 1947 till date and has itself weakened the relationship between Srinagar and New Delhi.
Despite the accession between J&K and rest of India being temporary it is New Delhi which always has proved arrogant and has bulldozed every commitment made with people of Jammu & Kashmir one by one as such the onus lies on New Delhi whatsoever has been happening in J&K. He added rather going through cheap and fabricated conspiracies New Delhi should introspect why couldn’t it won hearts and minds of Kashmiris since last seventy years.Speaking of the occasion Er. Rasheed accused that Chowdhary Talib Hussain is being humiliated and harassed under a well-crafted conspiracy for his pro-active role in Rasana Rape and Murder case. Er. Rasheed added that Mr. Talib had some family issues and the agents of conspiracy exploited his personal problem to defame him so that his image is tarnished. Er. Rasheed alleged that some sixteen localities, mostly Muslim dominated have been send notices by various departments in Jammu Province to vacate their residential houses claiming the land to be state land.Er. Rasheed termed the move as unfortunate and said that right wing elements have one point agenda to dislodge Jammu Muslims but added that masses from Karnah to Lakhanpur will resist such communal moves.
