Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today reviewed the functioning of revenue department and launched a number of initiatives for strengthening of field offices and an extensive public outreach programme for effective public service delivery at door steps.ACR Revenue Hamida Akhter, SDM Gurez, SDM Sumbal, Tehsildar, Girdawari and all Patwaris attended the meeting. A detailed presentation was made depicting the progress of Jamabandi, Girdawari, Mutations, digitisation of land records, providing revenue extracts.The DC reviewed the infrastructure gaps and informed that immediate steps will be taken for construction of 34 Patwar Halqas, upgradation of offices, provision of vehicles to Tehsildars, office furniture and stationery for smooth functioning. Meanwhile, all Patwaris are being provided with Tablet computers, field bags, stationery, revenue law books, mobile phones and CUG number for efficient public service delivery and coordination among departments as well as grievance redressal.

Pursuant to the decisions taken in the meeting, 28 camps will be organised across the district with 4 camps in each tehsil for providing various services at door steps which include PRCs, income certificate, caste certificate, voter enrolment, mutations, revenue extracts and other services from various departments under the Public Service Guarantee Act. Public grievances related to different departments will be resolved in these camps.Meanwhile, it was decided in the meeting that equipment, machinery, manpower and other logistic support will be provided to field revenue staff for removal of nearly 20,000 Kanal state and Kahcharai land. The inter-departmental taskforce at Tehsil level will coordinate for joint exercise to remove high value encroachments. Tehsildars were directed to convene meeting of all sectoral officers to review the status of land owned and reflected in records and to take immediate steps for entry of departmental assets in revenue record.The DC directed that funds are being placed at the disposal of Tehsildar for relief and in case of damage of any house, private property, loss of life or livestock relief shall be provided within 24hours to affected family, for which an online mechanism has been developed in DC office. The revenue officers were also asked to finalize land for construction of one playfield in every village and selection of teams to be equipped and trained apart from provision of sports material.
