The repair work of Jagraon Rail Over Bridge is going on in full swing and is expected to complete by January 2019. MP Ravneet Singh Bittu today inspected the ongoing repair work and directed the Railway Officials to ensure that the work is completed on time and on priority basis.While giving information, Mr Bittu informed that the demolition work on one side of the bridge has been completed and soon, further repair work would start. He said that the length of the area to be repaired is 65 feet and width is 10.5 feet and the amount of Rs 24.30 crore needed to complete these repairs has already been deposited to the Railway Department by the Punjab government.Mr Bittu further stated that special type of girders, design and other equipment is already ready and once this repair work is completed, the approach roads connecting this bridge would be repaired by the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation.He assured that the repair work would be completed in set time frame and stated that he is inspecting the ongoing work on weekly basis, that would continue till the time the work is completed. He warned that he would not tolerate any kind of delay in the repair work of this bridge and to ensure that, the Executive Engineer or the Railway Department has been asked to remain stationed at Ludhiana.He was also accompanied by Youth Congress leader Mr Sunny Kainth, Personal Assistant Mr Gurdeep Singh Sarpanch, besides several others.
