Jammu , 10 Apr 2014

Senior party leader and Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand today said that vote for Congress will be a vote for stability, peace and prosperity of country and Jammu and Kashmir State in particular. He said that no one except Congress can give nation a stable government which is the need of hour. The country, he added was passing through most sensitive phase and elections of pisive or communal forces to power would destabilise its economy in a big way.According to a statement while seeking votes for former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, party candidate from Udhamur-Doda parliamentary constituency Tara Chand said that electing communal forces like BJP to power would be biggest ever misadventure in the history. He was addressing public meetings at village Ransoo, Kotla and adjoining areas of district Reasi and sought votes for Congress. He said that Ghulam Nabi Azad is the son of soil who did many historic works for people of Jammu and Kashmir State.

Maximum development took place during the tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad which till date has remained matchless. He urged people to sense gravity of situation and vote a secular, progressive and visionary political outfit like Congress to power which has a legacy of building nation and bring peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir State in particular. The kind of development state witnessed in health sector and other fields is par excellence and only Congress can stretch that development further. Ghulam Nabi Azad, he said has been in the parliament for years together and would be able to represent his people in a far better manner than anyone else. He said that by sending Azad to the Parliament people will be making their voices heard at the highest forum in most effective manner.

Tara Chand asserted that coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir has achieved tremendous success with active support of people. The kind of infrastructure it has developed matches international standards. Empowerment of Panchayats, setting up of new administrative units for giving people easy access to government and central schemes aimed at giving countrymen Right to Food, Right to Education and Right to Information had all shown tremendous response. He urged people to not fall a prey to farce and frivolous campaigns launched by BJP to woo voters merely to snatch power.Tara Chand added that it was because of various centrally sponsored schemes Like PMGSY, NRHM, JNNURM, SSA and IAY that villages and cities all witnessed widespread development. The coalition government he added worked for equitable development of all three regions of the state and it was during this era that schools, colleges, hospitals, roads, Panchayat Ghars and other infrastructure were developed in abundance. The liberal funding by central government, he said enabled the state to progress by leaps and bounds. Former minister and MLC Jugal Kishore Sharma and former minister Jagjeevan Lal also addressed the meetings and sought votes for party candidate.
