Mission Tandrust Punjab- Horticulture Department Sells Variety Of Nutrient Squash, Juice At No Loss No Profit Basis

Dept Makes The People Aware About Nutritional Value Of Fruits And Vegetables In Seminars

The horticulture department is selling a variety of nutrient squash and juice of fresh fruits at ‘No Loss No Profit Basis’ under mission Tandrust Punjab.These include squash and juice of mango, orange, Lychee, Pineapples, Black Plum beside pickle, chutney too and are prepared at Government Fruit Preservation Laboratory.Deputy Director Horticulture Jagdev Singh said that all products are rich of nutrients and safe which have several health benefits.Moreover, the Government Fruit Preservation Laboratory is also offering training to the students and women about the preparation of various fruits’ products, he added. He told that the department has aimed the sale of Rs 10 lakh during this financial year as these products are huge popular among the people.He said that under mission Tandrust Punjab, the department is also creating awareness about the nutritional value of fruits and vegetables among the people by holding  seminars and motivating them to grow seasonal vegetables in their kitchen gardens.Moreover, he added that the department has organized seminars in the rural and urban areas including villages Mandiani, Bhourla, Lapon, Dulley, Sudhar, Boparai Kala, Rara, Meowal, Jamalpur Laily  and various parts of city in which the farmers and participants were motivated about organic vegetable production.Besides, they were informed about how to identify fruits ripened artificially so that they can avoid using such fruits, he said.Deputy Director Horticulture also exhorted the people to use these natural and organic food rather than drinking soft drinks or junk foods.
