The meeting of Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section was held here today under the chairmanship of Dr. Sadhana Thakur, wife of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur. While speaking on the occasion, she said that it was a matter of immence pleasure for her to be a part of Red Cross and  expressed hope that she would get activitive support of all members.She said that she had been working in health sector and other social activities for a long time, but working with Red Cross will give an opportunity to serve the poor and needy strata of society. She said Red Cross was working for poor and needy people all over the world since past 150 years.Dr. Sadhana Thakur said that the sign of Red Cross signifies the welfare of mankind and it was a ray of hope for downtroddens and needy. She added we will keep serving the suffering humanity by taking inspiration from this institition. She said that the work of great humanity lover Henry Dwentan, who lead the Red Cross campaign was inspiring for entire world.She said that in order to serve humanity there was a need to create compassion in the hearts of people and for this Red Cross need to expand its activities. In Himachal Pradesh Red Cross was serving through various branches and was providing free medicines to the needy and poor people and assiatance during natural calamities. She urged the people to associate themselves with the Red Cross to help the humanity.
