NCC Organizes Awareness Seminar On International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking

Exhorts Youths To Shun Drugs And Contribute Towards Nation’s Development

An awareness seminar was organized by National Cadet Corps (NCC) to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at DAV Public School in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar on Tuesday. Additional Director General (ADG) (NCC) Major General RS Maan was the chief guest of the function.Prominent Agriculture Economist and Former PAU Vice-Chancellor Sardara Singh Johl and Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu were special guests of the function.Addressing the impressive gathering in the seminar, ADG Major General RS Maan said that youths should shun the drugs and come forward to contribute towards the development of the nation.He told that our country is now heading towards the developed nation and it is the responsibility of youths to now play their active role dynamically. Punjab’s youths have always performed actively this duty, he said.“We should feel proud that India is country which has a maximum population of youngsters”, ADG added.ADG further claimed that the youths must join NCC during their student days to become responsible citizens of the country.Sardara Singh Johl hailed the role of NCC for the nation and appealed the people become a crusader against drug menace in Punjab to make it drug-free state. He told that everyone must step up and take the responsibility to end the menace from Punjab.The students also performed a play on the drug abuse.On the occasion, keynote speaker Dr. Arvind Sharma,  Councillor Mamta Ashu and principals of various schools, higher officials of Army and others were present.
