“Jammu Kashmir is a police state where killing innocent humans is normal. No matter who runs the state affairs in Jammu Kashmir, he or she is deployed to serve Indian interests and target Kashmiri lives,” said the chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday.According to a statement issued to GNS, JKLF leaders and activists staged a protest against the killing of a civilian and injuring dozens of others in Srigufwara area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday. The leaders said gruesome killings can never deter Kashmiris from pursuing the path of resistance. The protest was organized on the call of joint resistance leadership, the statement said.In a statement, Malik said, “Recently a drama was state managed and governor’s rule implemented in Kashmir. This is also a well-devised plan to increase killings, inflict more and more harm and injuries to Kashmiris and intimidate them.”“The crackdowns have become a daily routine and during these military operations, beating common people without the discrimination of age and gender, arresting, torturing and humiliating innocents, vandalizing and destroying properties, blasting and burning down residential houses and private vehicles has increased to an alarming proportion,” he said.

JKLF chief added, “On one hand, this oppression and state-sponsored terrorism against common people is going on, and on the other hand, Indian media especially TV channels have been deployed as a propaganda machine to justify this state-sponsored terrorism. Indian TV channels and anchors are working as foot soldiers in civvies for the Indian army, forces, SOG, police and agencies and are deployed for promoting killings and other oppressive measures.”Meanwhile, Malik has paid rich tributes to Ajaz Ahmad Bazaz (Yasir) of Basant Bagh “who was martyred in custody by SOG in 2000”. He expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.JKLF also organized a condolence program at party headquarters for the “great martyr” in which various party leaders and activists along with the father of Ajaz Bazaz participated.
