Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam Mohammad Farooq Dar today convened a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for annual Urs of Syed Suallah (A.R) at Khansaheb being observed from June 21.The meeting was held on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik. During the meeting, ADC directed the concerned to strictly regulate transport to ensure hassle-free movement of devotees expected to throng the Sufi mystic’s shrine from different parts of the Valley in large numbers.The meeting was informed that Health Department would conduct health camps at different places to facilitate general public during the Urs days.Stressing on the uninterrupted power and water supply across Khansaheb on Urs days, the ADC asked Exens of PDD and PHE to sensitize their ground level staff to ensure that hassle-free water and electricity supply is provided to the consumers. 

FCS&CA department was directed to provide an additional quota of 50 quintals of ration to the consumers.Emphasizing the need for pre and post sanitation drives, ADC directed concerned to intensify cleanliness drive in the district with a focus on roads, lanes, drains and regular lifting of wastage from markets. Besides he asked the Municipal Authorities to work in double shifts.He also asked the concerned to install new and repair defunct street lights and high mast lights and ensure proper illumination of the holy shrine.Further, ADC directed the concerned to ensure plying of public transport during evening times in all towns for the commuters.Besides, the magistrates were asked to remain vigilant and keep close liaison with the police authorities and the Fire Service authorities were directed to remain in a state of preparedness to deal with any eventuality.
