A seminar on the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda organized by Swami Vivekananda Seva Pratishthan was held at historic Gaiety Theatre Shimla, today. Governor Acharya Devvrat was present as a Chief Guest on the occasion.On the occasion, the Governor said that Swami Vivekananda was the great personality, who gave the world the view of Indian thought, philosophy, spiritualism and universal brotherhood. We should move towards social welfare by following their teachings, he added.The Governor said that Swami Vivekananda worked tirelessly towards betterment of the society, for the welfare of poor and needy, dedicating his all for the country and was responsible for the revival of Hindu spiritualism and established Hinduism as a revered religion on world stage. He added that his message of universal brotherhood and self-awakening remains relevant especially in the current backdrop of widespread political turmoil around the world. He said that his teachings have been an inspiration to many, and his words have become goals of self-improvement especially for the youth of the country as Nationalism was a prominent theme in Vivekananda's thoughts and urged his fellow countrymen to “Arise, awake and stop not till the goal is reached”.Acharya Devvrat said that the idea makes man great, and this thought power made him greater. 

He said that the great men make a new path through karma, and the society follows it. He said that the life philosophy of Swami Vivekananda was a source of inspiration and his biography should be taught to the future generation. He added that there was a need to reflect on the challenges which prevent the society from moving forward and he called people to come forward against social evils like drug abuse and female feticide. Work should be done to eliminate discrimination in the society and this was the thought of Swami Vivekananda, said Acharya Devvrat.The Governor appreciated the efforts of Swami Vivekananda Seva Pratishthan for organizing such a seminar on the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda and said that such more inspirational programme should be organized so that good message was disseminated in the society.The Governor was also presented the book "Life is Beautiful" written by Ravitanaya Sharma on this occasion. The Governor also honoured the students.Earlier, President, Swami Vivekananda Seva Pratishthan Dr. Pramod Sharma welcomed the Governor and detailed about various activities of the Pratishthan. He said that India's specialty was in its spirituality and only after following the message of Swami Vivekananda based on Indian spirituality, the country could be made ‘Vishva Guru’ again.The students also shared their views on Swami Vivekananda's life philosophy on the occasion.A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.Mayor, Municipal Corporation Shimla Smt. Kusum Sadret, Councilors and other prominent persons were also present on this occasion.
