Punjab Education Minister O.P. Soni today met members of the Saanjha Adhiyapak Morcha and assured to fulfil justifiable demands of the teachers.During the meeting with the members of the 24 teachers union of State here in Punjab Bhawan today, the Education Minister was accompanied by Mr. Krishan Kumar, Secretary, School Education, Mr. Prashant Kumar Goyal, Director General School Education-cum-Vice Chairman, Punjab School Education Board and Mr. Paramjit Singh DPI (Secondary).The minister has considered the demands with officers, like; shifting of RMSA, SSA and other teachers in education department with full scale, teachers' promotion on various cadres, to cover computer teacher under the ambit of government, regularization of staff, demands of Sikhya Providers and Adarsh School and the issue of acquiring degrees from outside universities besides transfers in far-flung areas.After the meeting, the Minister said that now onwards, teachers should not have to hold agitations for their legitimate demands and the pro-teachers and pro-student atmosphere would be created in the state. He reiterates that Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is giving maximum attention to the education and health sector.He further apprised that the state government has taken several teacher-centric decisions, which includes the permission of ex-india leave, the approval of the child care leave to women teachers at school level, right of approval for 4-9-14 benefit to school principal besides given the authority to issue letter of completion of probation period to school principal etc. He said that education is the only department, which have made changes in the medical leave rules as per the teachers' demand.
