The Co-operation Minister, Punjab,Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has ordered immediate preparation of the Maximum Credit Limit (MCL) of the members of the Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies and faster advancement of the crop loans of the farmers pertaining to the kharif season. The minister was today presiding over a review meeting of the working of the Co-operation Department.The minister while instructing the officers present said that the record with regard to the land of the members of societies, available on the department portal, be obtained and if there is any difference in the ownership of a member's land from the information given on the portal then the jamabandi submitted by that farmer must be regarded as the basis for the maximum credit limit. The work concerning the preparation of the maximum credit limit of the farmers be completed on the basis of the data available on the portal and where needed on the basis of record obtained from the Revenue Department. During this entire exercise, no laxity would be tolerated. He also said that the government is fully concerned about the farmers being able to sow the crops in timely manner.The minister was apprised that out of the more than 3500 co-operative societies the work with regard to the MCL has been accomplished by around 1200 societies while the work related to the preparation of MCL of other farmers would be completed by 20-5-2018. The Additional Chief Secretary Co-operation has issued orders to the District Managers of the Central Co-operative Banks and the Regional Officers of the Co-operation Department in this regard.On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Co-operation Mr. D.P. Reddy, Special Secretary Co-operation Mr. Gaggandip Singh Brar and Registrar Co-operative Societies Mr. Arvinder Singh Bains were also present.
