Rashtriya Panchayat Raj Diwas was observed in Rajouri under the 3 week long Gram Swaraj Abhiyan. The Day is observed all over India on 24th of April, 2018 to strengthen the Panchayat Raj institutions of the country through which the public participate in the developmental process.To celebrate the day, programmes were organised in eight border villages of Nowshera Sub-division under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan-Special central intervention for achieving hundred percent saturation under 7 centrally sponsored schemes.Main function was held at Hanjana Thakra in which a team comprising Officers from Government of IndiaTasneem Majjid Ganai and Vinesh Pachnanda and Nodal officers for GSA implementation in the district participated and observed the activities being carried out.The programme was successfully conducted under supervision of Block Development Officer Nowshera Surinder Singh. He also made a detailed presentation about Rashtriya panchayati Raj Diwas and its importance in panchayats in strengthening Panchayats.During the programme, Gram panchayat development plan was discussed with the public. Officials of Rural Development Department highlighted all schemes of the department.The Departments including Health and Family Welfare, Revenue, PDD, PHE, Social Welfare, FCS & CA and Education participated in the camp and on spot services were provided to the beneficiaries which included caste and income certificates by revenue, subsidised LED bulbs by PDD and free LPG connections by FCS & CA. Besides, awareness was given to the participants about social welfare schemes, insurance schemes of banks and other targeted schemes under the Abhiyan and on the spot registration under these schemes were also made.
