DDC Poonch holds meeting with Telecom Service Providers

Strict directions issued for improving mobile connectivity

Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aija today asked the telecom service providers to immediately restore and improve the network connectivity issues inthe far- flung areas of the district.The DC was speaking at a meeting held with the representatives of various telecomservice providers, here today.Representatives of telecom companies including BSNL, JIO, Airtel, Vodafone and Idea were present on the occasion.DDC stressed on the necessity of a reliable communication network in the entire district for reducing reaction time of the administration in reaching out to the people during a calamity.It was given out in the meeting that cease fire violations being common in the area, the intermittent and unsteady network availability coupled with poor voice quality and coverage impedes relief and rescue operations besides it leads to various administrative deficit. DC directed telecom operators to resolve all administrative and technical inter organizational issues and ensurethat areas will have similar mobile service access at par with other areas of the state.He asked them, to make best use of existing infrastructure, apart from creating additional infrastructure in the district. The DDC set deadline for Airtel and Jio Network operators to improve network communication in given grace period and warned that in absence of compliance, the already initiated "CRIMINAL PROCEEDINGS" under CRPC sec.133 shall be made absolute.Earlier representative from Telecom operators apprised the DDC about administrative and Technical issues being confronted.Later DDC spoke to Commander 93 Infantry Brigade and asked him to expedite the process of granting border permissions to various telecom operators.The meeting was attended by ADC DrBasharat Hussain, CPO Poonch Seva Ram Bhagat, District Informatic Officer Narinder Singh.DDC has earlier initiated criminal proceedings against Telecom service providers for their negligence and causing public nuisance by depriving the public of proper mobile network connectivity.
