The nocturnal raids and subsequent detention of couple of youth sparked clashes and protests in Anchar Soura area in the outskirts of Srinagar city.Reports said that police conducted nocturnal raids in Anchar Sour and detained couple of youth who are allegedly involved in stone-pelting incidents.Pertinently, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman addressed huge gathering at Anchar after Friday congregational prayers yesterday. Locals said that those arrested are innocent and have nothing to with stone-pelting incidents.Eyewitnesses said that people on Saturday took to roads and clashed with police. They also blocked the road and disrupted vehicular movement. The protesting locals demanded immediate release of youth.When contacted, a police official said that they have arrested only one youth on charges of stone-pelting.“Despite repeated calls, the said youth didn’t present himself before the police. We sent a police party and arrested him from his house,” he said. (CNS)
