A  function was held at Chest Disease Hospital Bakshi Nagar Jammu to observe the World Tuberculosis Day.Dr. Chander Parkash, Deputy Director (HQ) Dr. JP Singh, State Epidemiologist, Dr. Sanjay Turki, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Dr Yash Karsyal, Assistant Director JKSACS, Dr. Sanjay Arora , WHO Consultant RNTCP and all the officers from DHS, Doctors and Paramedical staff of  CD Hospital and DRTB Centre  were present on the occasion. Dr Kamini Gupta, District TB Officer Jammu, briefed the audience about the achievements of RNTCP programme in District Jammu and   also elaborated on new initiatives in TB Treatment.Dr. Chander Parkash, Dr J P Singh, Dr. Sanjay Turki, Dr Yash Karsyal, Dr. Sanjay Arora, also spoke on the occasion and raised awareness about the disease. The shortfalls of RNTCP programme, new initiatives, recently announced rewards for case detection and punishment for non-reporting were also discussed threadbare.The felicitation of best workers and the patients who successfully completed their treatment schedule was also done. Cured Patients narrated their success stories  and encouraged other patients to complete the treatment of TB.Dr Sambyal, Medical Officer RNTCP GMC, Jammu, who compared the proceedings of the function translated the highlights in Dogri language.In addition to this various other IEC activities which have been done at block level to mark the World TB Day (week) 2018 were enumerated by the State IEC officer Seema Sharma who also presented the vote of thanks.
