Aryans College of Education today organized National Seminar on “Drug Abuse among Adolescents-Issues & Challenges” at its campus i.e. Village Nepra, Chandigarh–Patiala Highway, Near Chandigarh. Dr Jamshid Ali Khan, Dean College Development Council, Punjabi University, Patiala was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr Gurvinder Pal Singh, Head of Psychiatrist Department, Gian Sagar Medical College was the Key Note Speaker. The event was presided over by Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges.  Around 250 delegates from nearby Schools and Colleges actively participated in the Seminar. Around 30 experts and professors presented   their papers on different topics related to drug abuse.

Dr. Manjula Kataria, Principal, Aryans College of Education welcoming the Guests and participants said that the objective of the seminar was to create awareness and to mobilize people against drug abuse. Dr. Khan said that sheer pressure of studies on students is one of the few cases which results in drug abuse among the youngsters. The educational system nowadays is very competitive and lacks flexibility with lakhs of students appearing for few thousand seats. Again there is always a parental burden which adds to the pressure of making it big academically.Dr. Manjula Kataria expressed hope that rich contribution made by several speakers would help people understand the important issues related to Drug Abuse. Also present on the occasion were Prof. D. C. Kataria, Vice- Chairman, Aryans Group; Mrs. Rajni Kataria, Treasurer, Aryans Group; Dr. (Mrs.) Parveen Kataria, Director General, Aryans Group; Dr. P B Mahapatra, Director, Aryans College of Engineering; Shri B. S Sidhu, Registrar, Aryans Group, Mr A P Jain, Director, Aryans Group, Ms Varinder Kaur, Coordinator, Aryans Group.
