Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today convened a meeting regarding NFSA and MMSFES to review stock and supply position in Jammu province.The meeting was attended by Commissioner Secretary, FCS&CA, M.D Khan, Additional Secretary, Jugal Kishore Anand, Financial advisor, FCS&CA, Zia-ul-Rehman, Deputy Director planning, FCS&CA Jammu, Mohd Iqbal, Deputy Director Supplies, FCS&CA Joginder Singh Jasrotia and other senior officials of the department.During the meeting, the Minister took a detailed review of the status of stock and supply position, allocation, lifting, distribution of essential commodities under PDS and directed the concerned authorities to put in place effective monitoring mechanism to ensure that ration distribution is further streamlined and made time bound.During the meeting, the Minister was informed that 2878797.64 quintal of wheat and rice was lifted from January 2017 to December 2017 and 2863140.59 quintal was distributed under NFSA Scheme in Jammu Division during the period. Similarly, 712713.3 quintal of Wheat and rice was lifted from January 2017 to December 2017 and 711543.8 quintal was distributed under MMSFES in Jammu Division. Whereas 176393.25 quintal of sugar was lifted from January 2017 to December 2017 besides 171998.92 quintal was distributed in Jammu division.The Minister directed the Commissioner Secretary to constitute a committee to submit a comprehensive report of physical verification of stocks.
