Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today laid foundation stone for Water Supply Scheme (WSS) KalalKass, coming up in Kalakote Constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 3.07 crore. The construction works for the project are expected to be completed within a period of three years.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that establishment of PHE scheme at KalalKass will augment the water supply position in the area and will provide drinking water facilities to more than 5000 souls.The Minister reiterated that the government is committed to provide adequate drinking water facilities to the people especially those living in far-flung and hilly areas. He said that instructions have been given to the administration to identify uncovered areas so that portable drinking water facilities can be provided to these areas at the earliest. He said that center government is providing liberal funding in most key sectors including PHE and these funds will be instrumental in improving the public service and utilities delivery in the state.Senior Officers of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Departments were present on the occasion.The Minister also met several deputations that apprised him about several problems pertaining to their areas. These include construction of footpaths, protection bunds, development of springs, up-gradation of health and educational institutions.The Minister giving patient hearing to the people assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. In some cases, Kohli gave on the spot directions to the concerned for immediate redressal.
