Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region and PMO, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that implementation of welfare schemes ensures Jan Sampark at ground level and connects the people of every region.This, he said while chairing the meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) at Katra here today.Jitendra Singh asked the DDC to evolve an effective mechanism for regular monitoring and follow up of all ongoing development works. He also exhorted upon them to hold periodic review meetings with all the stake holders to meet the purpose behind launch of these projects envisaging improvement in living standards of people.Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Prasanna Ramaswamy G, ADC Babu Ram, Mission Director NHM, Chief Engineers, Executive Engineers, nominated members and various other district officers were present in the meeting. The members reviewed the physical and financial progress of various schemes and development projects of education, roads, buildings, NRHM, SSA, Health, Rural Development, PMGSY and other departments under various centrally sponsored schemes.

Dr. Jitendra Singh asked SE PMGSY to expedite the works on roads- Dhandali to Kanthan, Arnas to Chillad, Nishat More to Surman, Gundi Nalla to Kanota, Pouni Nalla to Prankote, Sungri to Bago Dass, Chasana to Bagan Kote, Kalaban to Tulli, Tharal to Shikari, Jij to Prankote and various other road projects running at various stages.The officers were instructed to lay foundation stones of road projects and complete the same on war footing. He said land and forest related issues need to be resolved on priority. Instructions were also passed for early completion of water supply schemes and ensure their functioning.Further instructions were passed to officers for resolving the bottlenecks in functioning of KV School, Wind Power Project at Bidda and four and two lane road projects in the district. He said all formalities need to be completed in time bound manner.  Health department was asked to fill up all vacant posts under National health Mission and health sector on priority. He stressed upon officers to submit UCs all projects of central governments.  

In the meeting some issues were also raised which include establishment of garbage management plant at Katra, up-gradation of schools, new degree college for district, amusement park at Katra, widening of Bhambala to Ransoo road. Emphasizing on optimum utilization of available resources, the Union Minister exhorted upon the concerned officers to gear up their men and machinery to meet the work requirements thus satiating people’s aspirations.Ajay Nanda projected various issues pertaining to up-gradation of roads, electricity supply, health, education, construction of viewpoints along national highway, water supply and other basic amenities in the constituency besides asking the concerned departments   to take requisite steps for an early redressal of the same.The Union Minister asked the officers to prioritize the redressal of issues related to basic amenities so that the people may not suffer on this account.Senior leaders Kuldeep Raj Dubey, Pardeep Singh, Sheel Mangotra and other prominent citizens from Katra were also present.
