Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law and Justice, Abdul Haq today inaugurated a photo exhibition highlighting assets built by Rural Development Department.Legislators Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal and Kuldeep Raj, District Development Commissioner Sheetal Nanda, Project Officer IWMP Sunil Shama, ACD Samba Aijaz Qaiser, DPO Parvaiz Naik , BDO’s and field staff of RDD were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Haq highlighted pivotal role of RDD functionaries of the department in employment generation, infrastructure up gradation and enhancing livelihood in rural areas. He exhorted upon the officers and officials to work in a coordinated manner so that the development projects envisaging socio-economic empowerment of rural people are effectively implemented for better outcome. He said that focus should be on creating rural assets which can be used for future works too and are in general interest for majority of the population.He also emphasized on involving Gram Sabhas in the development process of rural areas for effective and need based growth in the targeted areas.The MLAs also spoke on the occasion and asked the officials to work with utmost dedication and ensure that works are executed and completed in time.
