Gujjar and Bakerwal community Monday carried out a protest march in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district to press for their demands. Large number of protesters assembled at Sports Stadium Bandipora, and took out a peaceful march, that culminated at Nishat Park.hey were demanding separate STGB Quota for Gujjar Bakerwal Community.The community candidates are not getting benefits under SheduleTribe Category given to them.  All the benefits, rights, schemes, Posts reserved for GB community  being snatched by the people belonging to Gurez, Tehsil of Bandipora District, because they are also having the Status of Schedule Tribe which has created confusion among Gurezi and Gujjar Bakerwals,” the protestors said.They also  alleged that Gujjar Bakerwal community is getting neglected at every front, be it in Government jobs or in Development sector because all the funds are being diverted towards Gurez sector while minor share of Tribal funds are being used in areas of Gujjar Bakerwals.
