DDC reviews action plan for National Immunization Day

District Development Commissioner Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today reviewed the action plan for National Immunization Day to be observed from 28th to 30th January, 2018 for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization in the district.National Immunization Day targets vaccination of children in the age group of 0-5 years across the country for polio virus.It was informed in the meeting that the estimated number of children below five years in the district is 108063 and 634 Vaccination booths, 2528 team members, 152852 OPV doses besides other logistics such deep freezer, cold boxes, OPV vials and  functioning  ILRs  are available in the district for coverage of all the children.It was also informed that activities to be carried on NIDs will include house to house immunization activity on 29th & 30th of January, transit site activity from 28th -30th  of Jan and activity in high risk areas like brick kilns, construction sites, slums, nomads etc from 28th to 30th of January.The DDC impressed upon the members of District Task Force to put in concerted and coordinated efforts so that not even a single child of targeted age group is left out. He called for social mobilization, carrying out of massive IEC activities through electronic, print and social media for awareness of masses.DDC stressed for an effective monitoring system to be in place on NIDs for absolute coverage and asked for strict adherence to cold chain protocol to make the programme the safest and successful one.The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Abdul Rashid, CEO Lal Hussain, CMO Dr. Suresh Gupta, District Immunization Officer Dr. Anis-A-Nabi, MS DH Dr. Mehmood Hussain Bajjar, DSWO Dr. Abdul Khabir, CDPO Auquil Nuvaid besides all block medical officers of the district.
