Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today asked the respective district administrations to reach out to the people living in far-flung and snow-bound areas of the division for addressing their problems at their doorsteps.The Div Com said this while charging a meeting to review helicopter services being operated by Pawan Hans Limited in various areas including Leh, Kargil, Kupwara and Bandipora districts to ensure hassle-free journey of locals from snow-bound and cut-off areas.Deputy Commissioners of Bandipora, Kupwara, Leh and Kargil participated in the meeting via video conferencing. They informed that the work on civilian helipads at Leh and Bandipora is in the final stages and is expected to be completed shortly and the administration is prepared to tackle any emergency situations and inconvenience faced by the people during winters.Baseer Khan directed for expediting the pending works, besides taking measures for creating the proper infrastructure for the convenience of passengers as well as for the safety of helicopters operating in these areas.  

He also asked the concerned to work out an appropriate flight schedule, besides utilizing all available communication sources to make the operations hassle-free and to tackle emergency situations in far-flung and snow-bound areas which remain cut off during winters.He said that the operation of a regular helicopter service would not only be of immense relief for the locals but will also help boost the tourism activity in the desert districts which has some of the spectacular places to showcase to the world.Besides, Additional Deputy Commissioner and other administrative officers were present in the meeting.
