The Punjab Government has sought applications from government officials/employees for appointing Liaison Officers with the Jathas visiting Pakistan on various occasions in 2018.Giving this information, a spokesman of the state administration said that Jathas of Sikh/Sahjdhari Sikh pilgrims are likely to be sent to Pakistan by the Indian Government in 2018 on the occasions of Baisakhi in the month of April, martyrdom day of Guru Arjan Dev ji in the month of May, the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the month of June, and the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the month of November. The Government would appoint the Liaison Officers with all these Jathas.He said that all the state government employees who were posted as senior assistant or above are eligible for the post of Liaison Officer. The officers/employees who are interested in joining these Jathas as a Liaison Officer or Observer should send their applications on the prescribed format to the General Administration Department (General Coordination Branch), 6th floor (Hall), Punjab Civil Secretariat Chandigarh, through the head of their department, on or before December 31, 2017. He said that the eligible officers working in the Secretariat should send their application through Secretariat Administration.It has also been made clear that if any applicant is appointed as a Liaison Officer he will not be allowed to withdraw his application under normal circumstances.
