Additional Secretary Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Arun Kumar Mehta today chaired a meeting here at Dak Bungalow to review the pace and status of various ongoing developmental activities undertaken by various executing agencies in the district. The meeting was attended by District Developmental Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash, ADDC Mohammad Qasim Wani, ADC Farooq Ahmad Baba, Joint Director Planning A G Malik, SEs and Exens of different line departments and various other district and sectoral officers. On the occasion, the DDC briefed the Additional Secretary about the status of various developmental projects. He said that out of the total CAPEX budget of Rs 254.35 crore for this fiscal, Rs 71.28 crore has been released and Rs 48.25 crore have been expended up to November 2017 in various sectors through the state as well as centrally-sponsored schemes.He informed that 10 schemes involving a road length of 153.50kms under Central Road Fund (CRF) were approved at a cost of Rs 158.96 crore against which an amount of Rs 32.98 crore were released till this November. The meeting was also informed that under PMGSY, a total of 143 schemes were approved against an allocated outlay of Rs 365. 20 crore, out of which 80 schemes were completed till this November. A detailed account of pace and progress in various development works under R&B, PDD, PHE, Irrigation, Health, and Education sectors was presented.

 Meanwhile, the Additional Secretary, who is also the Nodal Officer Developmental Projects Baramulla, took a comprehensive review of various developmental projects wherein he stressed upon the concerned to ramp up the pace of work so that all the undertaken projects are completed within a stipulated timeframe. He exhorted upon the officers to deploy additional men and machinery in expediting the pace of works besides assuring every possible support in ensuring progress and prosperity of the district. He called for effective coordination between various agencies so that qualitative services are delivered for the overall welfare of the people. He also sought suggestions and feedbacks from officers for the overall effective implementation of various programmes and schemes in the developmental field.
