The director of "Muzaffarnagar: The Burning Love", a film facing trouble over its release in Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh, on Monday questioned the authorities as to why his movie was being stopped even when it has a pan-India release permit from the censor board.Harish Kumar, the director, has urged the authorities to allow the movie to hit the screens."Muzaffarnagar: The Burning Love", based on the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, released on November 17. However, Kumar said that cinema chains in Muzaffarnagar, have chosen not to screen the film after orders from the district magistrate."A lot of money has gone in the making of this film and later in publicity and advertisements. We don't know what problem the management has with our film. We are ready to show the film to them before release, but nobody is cooperating," Kumar said here."If the censor board has passed the film, then why are they against their decision. Does CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification) hold no value? Should the makers release a film by first showing it to all district magistrates? "Theatre owners in Muzaffarnagar and a few other districts have told us that they will not show the film till the time we will show them a letter from the district magistrate. These people who are talking about law and order are themselves not following it," he added. The film features Aishwarya Dewan, Dev Sharma and Anil George in the lead.
