Srinagar man injured in Dalgate blast succumbs at SKIMS

A man hailing from Hawal area of summer capital who was injured in a blast at Dalgate area here succumbed to his injuries during Sunday wee hours.Official sources said 45-year old Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir R/O Hawal who got injured during an explosion yesterday near Budyari Chowk in Dalgate succumbed at SKIMS Soura at 3 am.The police had claimed yesterday that the man was injured petrol bomb attack and was in stable condition.However doctors at SKIMS confirmed to GNS that he had splinter injuries and was critically injured.Sources insist that the explosion was caused by a grenade and not a petrol bomb.He was referred to SKIMS Soura during wee hours for further treatment where he succumbed.Initially the man was shifted to SMHS Hospital. Sources said after conducting his postmortem, police handed over the body to slain man's family members for last rites.(GNS)
