CII and BBN Industrial Association today organised an awareness programme on concept of 'Green Companies' at Baddi today.  Governor Acharya Devvrat presided over the function.Addressing the participants, Governor said that commerce and industry were two very important sectors for growth and economic prosperity of a nation. He said there were many a social issues where industrialists and businessmen could contribute towards better society.He said an extensive campaign entailing six important social issues has been launched in the state that included environment conservation as one of the most important issue.Governor said it is necessary that green cover in the state and elsewhere increased to reduce the level of pollution in the environment. He called upon people to plant more and more saplings to augment the green cover. The cleanliness is also important to supplement the efforts of environment conservation. 

Effective steps should be taken for conservation of environment by creating awareness otherwise the next generation will face the consequences, he added. He said people should take apprehensions of scientists on these issues seriously for ecological balance in the environment.He said sincere efforts were required on implementation of these social issues. He lauded the steps taken by BBIA for conservation of environment and particularly green cover in and around the industrial belt.Earlier, Governor launched the cleanliness drive from Jhar Majra and also planted saplings there.President BBNIA Shri Shailesh Aggarwal welcomed the Governor and gave detail of activities of the Association in the industrial belt and elsewhere in the state.Director Industries Shri Rajesh Sharma gave details of various incentives and facilities being provided by the State Government to entrepreneurs in the state.
