Srinagar , 31 Jul 2017

After observing four days lockout strike, Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association (JKLADCSA) on Monday staged protest at Press Colony, Srinagar for the removal of pay anomaly/disparity of clerical staff. The association had called for ‘Secretariat Gheraw’ but once the employees tried to march towards Secretariat, police swung into action and detained scores of employees. The Association has approached to the state government for redressel of pay disparity/anomaly, in response to which the state government has constituted Pay Anomaly Committee in 2007 vide order No. 1403-GAD of 2007 dated 07-12-2007 and vide order No. 67-GAD of 2012 dated 16-01-2012 and the said committee has submitted its recommendation to the government in favour of the Clerical Cadres. Instead of implementation of recommendations, the state government has constituted one more Pay Anomaly Committee to review the said recommendations within time bound period but after lapse of 2 years the said committee has not submitted its report to the government yet,” President JKLADCSA Muhammad Sultan Mir told CNS.“State Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu had announced and assured the Clerical Cadre that the orders in this respect will be issued on 9th Jan 2017.”The statement further added that the Finance Minister had repeated his announcement in the Assembly during his budget speech on 15th Jan 2017. But after lapse of 7 months, the commitment/announcement has not got final shape.“After examining the circumstances faced by clerical fraternity, the association has reached to the conclusion that there is no alternative to redress the long pending demand of removal of pay disparity/anomaly except the association has to choose the path of strike/demonstration till the outcome of final orders,” the protesting employees said.
