Chief Secretary, B B Vyas has condoled the demise of former Additional Chief Secretary (Home) J&K and Padamshree recipient, Dr. Mehmood-ur Rehman, who passed away on Saturday after developing a sudden health related complication.After hearing about the demise of Dr. Mehmood-ur Rehman, a condolence meeting was held here in the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar to pay homage and remember the services and contribution of Dr. Mehmood-ur Rehman in the administrative landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.Besides, the Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary, Home, R K Goyal, Director General of Police, S P Vaid, Administrative Secretaries and senior officers were present in the condolence meeting. “We are pained to hear the news about the sudden demise of Dr. Mehmood-ur Rehman. I have personally worked with him and recall his affection towards his colleagues. His valuable contribution will always be remembered” Chief Secretary said.While expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, Chief Secretary prayed for peace to the departed soul. “All our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family members of Dr. Mehmood-ur Rehman” Chief Secretary said. Two minute silence was also observed in honour of the departed soul. During his illustrious career, Dr. Mehmood-ur Rehman, held key positions in the state administration including Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries, Commerce & Power Development and Additional Chief Secretary (Home) J&K from 1989 to 1995.
