DDC Kulgam holds Public Durbar at Aharabal

Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Talat Parvez Rohella, held a public durbar to listen to the grievances of various delegations from Aharabal area of the district here today.A large number of people from various areas of the district came at the Durbar and apprised the DDC and the concerned district officers about various day to day problems confronting them.The main demands presented before the DDC were the provision of adequate teaching faculty in Higher Secondary School, availability of round the clock power & water supply in Aharbal & its adjoining areas. The DDC patiently heard the grievances of public & assured their redressal on priority.Responding to the demand of locals regarding the establishment of a suitable Parking slot for local Sumos, the DDC directed the concerned Chief Executive Officer to identify a suitable piece of land for the same.

Responding to the demands of developing tourism facilities at Aharbal, the DDC said the district administration is committed to give boost to tourist infrastructure development so that it provides employment opportunities to local youth.The DDC also directed the officers to ensure adequate essential commodities including rice, sugar, kerosene oil to the consumers at a reasonable rate besides conducting regular market checking in the entire Sub Division. He stressed upon the officers of CAPD department to keep available the rate lists of essential commodities in their stores. He said powers would be delegated to village level committees to monitor the execution of social welfare schemes. The works identified by these committees would be honored by the district administration, he added.Later, the District Development Commissioner also visited the construction site of Eikhlawiya Residential Model School Tangmarg where he inspected the pace of ongoing construction works. He directed the concern engineers to speed up the execution of work so it can be completed within stipulated time.SSP Kulgam, ADC, SDM Noorabad, CEO ADA, CMO, CEO, ACD, Executive Engineers of R&B, PDD, PHE, I&FC, other District Officers besides Tehsildar DH Pora were also present on the occasion.
