To ensure smooth coverage of the ensuing session of the state legislature commencing from 17th June 2017, the Chairman, Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali today convened a meeting with the representatives of the media to ensure smooth coverage of the Council.During the meeting, the Chairman sought cooperation from the print and electron media in highlighting the public interest issues raised by the legislators during the session.The media-persons raised various issues faced by them during the coverage of the proceedings including lack of adequate parking facility, Wi-Fi and other related facilities.Director Information and Public Relations, Muneer-ul-Islam briefed the meeting about the arrangements put in place for the print and electronic media for smooth coverage of the proceedings. He said 40 parking passes would be issued in favor of media person for their convenience.Chairman assured the representatives of the media that he will take up the matter with the concerned quarters to get the issues resolved before commencement of the session.Special Secretary Legislative Council, Mohammad Ashraf Wani, Deputy Director Information (PR) Headquarters, Sheikh Zahoor, Deputy Director News, Doordarshan Kendra Kashmir, Qazi Salman, Editor CNS, Rashid Rahi, Bureau Chief Dainik Jagran, Naveen Nawaz, Bureau Chief Amar Ujala, Amarpaul Bali, Correspondent PTI, Sohail, Bureau Chief Zee Salam Syed Tajjamul, besides senior officers of Council Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
