Minister for PHE, Irrigation Flood & Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today visited Kheer Bhawani to oversee the arrangements for the annual Kheer Bhawani Mela.  He also paid obeisance at the shrine and prayed for peace, prosperity and wellbeing of the people of the state.DDC Ganderbal Tariq Husain Ganai, SSP Ganderbal and district officers were present on the occasion.While interacting with the district officers, the Minister directed them to ensure that appropriate arrangements are put in place for the smooth conduct of upcoming Kheer Bhawani Mela and for the convenience of the pilgrims visiting shrine.Thousands of devotees from within and outside the State are expected to join the festival.

The Minister said such festive occasions exhibit brotherhood and communal harmony among the people and provide an opportunity to bridge the gap among different geographic regions of state.Sham Lal Choudhary discussed department-wise facilities to be provided for the devotees and particularly reviewed the position with regard to power, water supply, sanitation, Traffic Management, security arrangements, availability of essentials and medical facilities.He also went around the shrine complex and took stock of the arrangements being made by the administration for the pilgrims.The Minister was given brief about the preparedness of the district administration for the upcoming Mela and was told that a foolproof mechanism was put in place to ensure that the devotees get the requisite necessary facilities for performing religious rituals.
