Smart India Hackathon 2017, a pan India 36 hour hacking non-stop digital programming competition commences on April 1. The 2 day Grand Finale which is concurrently being held at 26 nodal centers across the country is jointly organized by AICTE and i4C (a not for profit organization) in collaboration with Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to offer disruptive digital solutions for real time challenges affecting the Indian economy.For the competition, 1,266 teams from various colleges throughout the country have been selected who would be competing in this Grand Finale on 1st and 2nd April to give solutions for 598 problem statements from 29 different government ministries and departments. Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran has been chosen as one of the 26 nodal centers to host this Mega Event. 35 teams from across the country would be participating at this Nodal center. Winners stand to get cash prizes and a chance to be a part of NASSCOM’s 10,000 Startup programs.The event will commence via video conferencing by Union Minister of Human Resource Development, Sh. Prakash Javadekar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address students on April 1 through video conference. Ms. Jyotsana Sitling, IFS, Joint Secretary Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, will be the Chief Guest of the event and Sh. R.K. Verma, Vice Chancellor, IKG Punjab Technical University will grace the event as the Guest of Honour.
