Minister for PHE, Flood Control and Irrigation, Sham Lal Chowdhary today provided hundred desks, water tank and uniforms to the needy students in a programme organized at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Channi Himmat.MLC Vikram Randhawa was also present on the occasion.The desks and school uniform have been provided to the institutions at the cost of Rs 1.20 lakh.While addressing the gathering, the Minister encouraged the students to improve their academic performances and promised full support from his side in future as well.He said sound human resource plays a vital role in the growth of economy and prosperity of a country and for that there is need to identify and nurture the hidden talent in each and every child.The Minister further urged the students to look beyond theoretical knowledge to improve their horizons and broaden the scope of their learning. ''Education has to go beyond bookish knowledge as co-curricular, interactive learning helps in overall personality development”, he added.Principal of the School, Parveen Akhtar welcomed the guests and thanked them for their sincere efforts for providing better infrastructure to the institution.
