Urging people of South Kashmir to ensure victory of INC NC Candidate and Pradesh Congress Committee, President G.A. Mir with a thumping majority, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha (Former Chief Minister) Gulam Nabi Azad has said that victory of INC NC Candidates in the upcoming by Elections amounts to victory of unifying and Secular Forces in the State, as that, the Secular Fabric of Country as well as State is in great danger. He said there is a need to take effective measures to fight the menace of RSS.Addressing joint INC NC meeting at Damhal Hanjipora in Distict Kulgam today, Azad appealed people to cast their vote in favour of G.A. Mir on April 12th without any kind fear or fret and ensure his victory with a thumping majority. He said time has come for the people to get united and teach a lesson to ruling dispensation for adopting wrong policies towards them (people).Stating that the upcoming By Election to Anantnag and Srinagar Parliamentary Constituencies is an opportunity for the people to safeguard their interests, Mr. Azad said that efforts are being made to harm the ageold tradition of brotherhood and harmony, but Congress is capable enough to defeat the forces hell bent upon harm the secular fabric of the Country.

He appealed people to rise to the occasion make vigorous efforts to strengthen the Secular Forces in the State, as that will be the defeat to anti peace forces vitiating the vitiating atmosphere of peace to serve their dirty political ends.There is mass discontent among the people due to misrule and mismanagement of the situation, arising from time, in the valley, as a result, people in entire valley are living ina great fear, he blamed the ruling dispensation for deep alienation among the peopleI appeal to people of entire south Kashmir not to come under false and concocted propaganda of ruling dispensation, which had earlier secured votes on sensitive issues but could even fulfill a single promise, I urge upon you not to get misled by the false promises being made by the ruling parties inorder to garner support for their Candidates, Azad appealed.

Addressing the gathering G.A. Mir has lashed out at ruling dispensation for victimizing people on political lines. PDP has lost the ground due to its unfriendly attitude towards the people, besides the wrong policies adopted by this party, from time to time, disturbed the socio political scenario of the Sate.He said PDP has not come upto the expectations of the, as the promises made during the 2014 Assembly elections have proved a blatant lie, as result, there is a great resentment against the ruling dispensation.He appealed people to vote for him (Mir) and ensure his victory with a thumping majority, as it is the Congress Party alone, which is capable enough to mitigate suffering of people.Those who addressed the gathering included Taj Mohi U din, Tariq Hamid Karra, Sakina Itoo, MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, Anayatuallh Rather, Aijaz Mehar, Indu Pawar, Shaheena Nadaf, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Amir Rasool and others.
