Minister of State for Finance and Planning today emphasized the need for preservation and promotion of local cultural heritage, folk art and music for future generations.The Minister was addressing a huge gathering after inauguration of Reasi Cultural Festival organized by Salal Power Project in collaboration with district administration Reasi. The festival featured scintillating performances Dogri folk music like Karks and Bhaaks, Kud which is very popular in hilly areas of Bakkal, Bomag, Khani kote, Dhanour, Thuroo, Jamaslan, Chillad, Mulas, Sarh etc.Third performance was a blend of Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Kashmiri, Bhaderwahi and Ladhakhi culture which lasted for one hour and mesmerized the audience. The programme was coordinated by Natrang director, Balwant Thakur.
A thematic skit was also staged on the occasion.The Minister appreciated the role of Natrang Jammu for presenting historic cultural shows across the world.Deputy Commissioner Reasi Ravinder Kumar, SSP Tahir Bhat and other senior officers from civil, police and NHPC besides huge local gathering were present on the occasion.Executive Director NHPC Jammu thanked Natrang Director and his artists for scintillating performances.General Manager Salal Power Station A.G.
