Rs. 3.97 cr expended on horticulture in Poonch: Bhalla

Minister for Horticulture, Housing and Culture, Raman Bhalla informed the House that funds to the tune of Rs. 4.07 crore has been released for development of horticulture in Poonch district during last two fiscals under Center and State sponsored schemes, adding that against which Rs. 3.97 crore has been expended on different horticulture activities in the district during the said period.Replying to a question by Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Jan, the Minister informed that development of fruit and vegetable market at Poonch would be completed within two years. He said the development works of Apni Mandi at Mandi are almost completed.The Minister said that an amount of Rs. 19.80 lakh has been provided as subsidy for purchase of tractors to 23 beneficiaries of the district. Mr. A. R. Veeri and Mr. M. Y Tarigami raised supplementaries and demanded development of horticulture by the strict implementation of different schemes for overall benefit of fruit growers.
