DC approves 18 cases of rent assessment

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Collector Ramban Mohammad Aijaz to revise the existing rates of rental buildings occupied by different departments.The chairman approved 18 cases in the presence of house owners and respective departmental representatives. During the proceedings of meeting, a total of 26 cases of Education, JK Police, Traffic Police, Social welfare, PMGSY, Handicraft, Youth Service and Sports and  Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Department were put up, of which, 18 were accorded approval by the chairman. A total 8 cases of different departments were deferred owning to absence of house owners.As per the rule, rent rates are revised by the Government from time to time keeping in view the market values of land, labour component and the cost of materials used for constructing structures besides considering some other factors too and the District Collector has the discretion of increasing the rates up to 10 percent keeping in view the genuineness of the cases.District Collector instructed the officers for immediate release of the rent as per the fresh rates in favour of owners. The meeting was attended by PO, ICDS, Ashok Pandita, ACR, Vevaik Puri, DSWO, Varunjeet Singh Charak, XENs and officers of other departments besides owners of houses.
