Dejected Tourism Casual Labourers protest along with their kids

Dejected with the response of the state government large number of family school going kids of Casual labourers of Tourism Department staged a protest along with their guardians demanding release of salaries of their family members.The protest was held outside Tourism Department here in TRC Srinagar. Carrying placards in their hands, school going kids appealed Finance Minister to regularize the Casual labourers and release their salaries which they have not been receiving from past 3 years.The protesting Casual labourers and the children shouted slogans against the state government for failing to respond to long pending demands. The Casual Labourers Union president Sarwar Ahmed while talking to CNS alleged that they have not received monthly salaries for years and the state government has failed to come to their rescue by not addressing their long pending grievances.“Government is only doing lip service. It has been making fake and hollow promises to us. We will protest outside CM residence and will even protest on 6 March when Board Meeting for Srinagar will take place,” he said and added that if they are not regularized they will hit to roads along with all the family members.
