In a brazen violation of government circular, a Revenue Official (Patwari) has been refusing to get relieved from his present area of posting in Khoie area of Haigam Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.Members from local Auqaf Committee told news agency CNS that Patwari Bashir Ahmed Shah has been transferred from Khoie area and in this regard Deputy Commissioner Baramulla issued a formal order vide number DCB/SQ/Est/2714-43 Dated February 4, 2017. “The irony is that the said Patwari who had once been suspended for corrupt practices is not ready to furnish compliance report and is unwilling to leave the present area,” they said.President Auqaf Committee Khoie, Muhammad Yousuf Mir said that the new Patwari who is supposed to take the charge of the area is also unable to perform his duties due to dogmatic approach of the transferred Patwari as a result people have been suffering to a great extent.He said that a few days’s back when they raised the issue with the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, he again issued a circular asking the said Patwari to handover the charge to the new Patwari Manzoor Ahmed Kaloo. “Patwari Bashir Ahmed Shah didn’t honour even the second government circular,” he said.The Auqaf Committee members claimed that the said Patwari has political backing and that is why he is ignoring the government directions.When contacted an official said that action will be initiated against the Patwari for not honouring the government order.
