The Department of Tourism concluded its three-day tourism promotional campaign aimed at highlighting Kashmir tourism potential and communicating the hospitality of locals to the participants here today.Organised in collaboration with Kashmir Hotel and Restaurant Owners Federation (KHAROF), the event wrapped up with a seminar on the theme ‘See Kashmir in a New Light”.Chief Guest of the event, District Magistrate Indore Ajay Dev Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, praised the beauty of Kashmir and urged the locals to visit the beautiful valley besides asking the locals travel agents to promote Kashmir through their packages.Director Tourism, Kashmir Mahmood A Shah highlighting J&K’s tourism potential, urged the national and the local media to bring out the positive stories from the Valley which are often sidelined in the light of negative news.On the occasion, Mahmood A Shah screened many short films on Kashmir highlighting its beauty besides the tourism products state offers. 

He also highlighted through video presentation the ongoing snow carnival in Kashmir which was inaugurated by the Chief Minster Mehbooba Mufti where adventure sports activities are being organized.He said Kashmir offers snow cycling, snow rugby, snow car rally, snow sculpturing besides other annual features like skiing, snowboarding and ice-staking and invited populace to come experience these activities.Deputy Director Tourism Kashmir (Publicity) Peerzada Zahoor  also attended the seminar.Earlier, President KHAROF Javed Basheer Burza in his welcome address hailed the travel agents and the locals from Indore for choosing Kashmir for their travels and holidays.Announcing up to 30 percent discount on the hotel tariffs by the members of the KHAROF, he said that “J&K has every tourism product to offer be it leisure tourism, pilgrim, golf, adventure. People are very hospitable and are willing to receive you and make your stay comfortable”.
